Hello everyone!

By listening to your feedback, we understood that our User system has to get some updates. We have now implemented two of the most requested features, that will make your game experience even better.

Friendships

The new update lets you add other players as your friends. Simply go to their profile and click "Add Friend". Yes, it's that easy.
They will immediately receive a friend request from you, and once they approve, you could both:

• 🟢 See when your friends are online
• ✉️ Invite your online friends to your game rooms

You no longer need to send private room links on other platforms, just to play Richup with your friends.

In addition, you can always add players you had fun playing with as your friends. That way you'll know when they're online and ready for their next challenge.

Blocks

As with any other online platform, Richup is not free of trollers, spammers, and offensive people. We want to make sure you get the best experience while playing, so in a previous update, we introduced the option to only allow logged-in users. We believed that by using this setting, you could always know whether your opponents are serious or not, based on their Karma points and statistics.

Unfortunately, abusive players could still enter these rooms and make the experience worse for everyone. That's why today we're introducing the option to block players.

When you block a player:

• You won't be assigned to rooms with them
• You won't see their messages in game chats.

To block a player, simply go to their profile and click Block. You can also describe the reason for your block. By adding a reason, moderators can also handle bad players, and find commonly blocked players.

And there's more!

If these two upgrades aren't enough, here are some more things we've been doing:

• 💴 Debt payments:
  Using the great feedback submitted by the community, we enhanced the debt system. Currently, when a player owes you money (for paying rent they can't afford), they can just bankrupt, leaving the debt unpaid. We changed this behavior so that now the game attempts to use the owned assets of the bankrupted player to cover up the debt. That way, owed players should always get their payments.
• ⚙️ View room settings while playing:
  Some rules are important to be familiar with while playing a game. Currently, once a game has started, players can no longer view its settings and rules. In the new update, we added a button to view the room settings while the game is running.
• 🍎 iOS fixes:
  We have optimized Richup for iOS and Safari. We made design fixes to make sure Richup looks and behaves the same, regardless of the platform you're using.
• 🎨 Overall design:
  We made many UI changes to make sure Richup continues to look modern and fun.

On November 12th, 2022, and November 13th, 2022, the first Richup Tournament occurred. The entire tournament was managed through the official Discord server. If you're not already there, join us to stay informed of upcoming events and updates.

Dozens registered for the tournament in an attempt to win and get the announced prizes. Out of them, we had 28 players who played the preliminary games of the best online Monopoly alternative, and 16 players made it to the semifinals.

The four finalists had a super-interesting game, full of strategies and original tactics. They played for 41 minutes, had 294 chat messages, and a whopping 23 trades.

It is during the last moments of the fascinating game when 9 lifes managed to make everyone else go bankrupt.

You create a new game room. You set the settings to the ones that you love, and wait for players. After a few moments, multiple players joined. Obviously, the community is large enough, and you are probably not familiar with them. But keep the worries away - User Statistics has got you covered.

What are User Statistics?

User statistics are multiple measures that every player on Richup has. They help you understand the nature of your opponents and estimate your actual chance of winning a game against them.

To view any user's statistics, hop on to their profile. That could be easily done by clicking their name or profile picture everywhere on Richup.

Let's review the available statistics.

Karma Points

Karma points are like a reputation for players. They help you determine how serious a player is. Players with higher Karma are more likely to play seriously and not troll or grief games.

Karma is earned for finishing games, whether you win or go bankrupt. Ideally, one should only earn Karma points by playing games as normal.
When a player disconnects in the middle of a game or gets vote-kicked from a game, they lose Karma.

Winning Rate

Luck plays a major role on the game board of Richup, but that won't be enough without good strategies. The Winning Rate reflects the games in which a player has won. This measure increases with every win.

Games Played

Some players go into lots of practice, and they have most likely upskilled with multiple strategies and approaches. This measure helps you identify these well-trained players. They would probably make for a very interesting, learning experience when you play with them.

Last Games History

Richup has multiple game rules you can configure, and every combination makes for a different strategy and experience. By exploring a player's game history, you'll be able to learn all about their practices, rules that are frequently used, the usual duration of their games, and more.
Note that the history of private games is only visible to the players who have participated in those games.

Bonus: Not all games are created equal

In order to prevent farming and abuse, not all games count toward a player's statistics. Games have to stand in various requirements in order for their results to be counted towards the statistics of their participants. Even so, you shouldn't worry since your statistics will be updated when you play normally, without attempting to abuse games.
