Richup v1.16: Introducing Teams Mode!

After months in the works, one of our most requested features is finally here. You asked to play with your friends, not just against them. Now you can. Say hello to Teams!

Teams mode lets you join forces in the lobby and play as a group. Two teams, three, or the classic squad versus a lone wolf, it's your call. Form your alliance, share the board, and outlast everyone else. The last team standing wins together.

How Teams Work

Teams is a room setting, off by default. Flip it on in the lobby, then create a team or jump into an existing one. Each team gets its own name and emoji. Plot freely while you wait, but once the game starts, your alliance is locked in.

Being on a team changes how the whole board feels:

  • No rent between teammates. Land on your friend's hotel and you walk away free.
  • Your properties combine. Countries, airports, and companies all count together across your team, so you can build monopolies and crank up the rent even when the cities are split between you.

If a teammate bankrupts, everything they own passes to a surviving teammate.

Good plotting needs a little privacy. Teams mode adds a separate Team chat channel right beside the global one. Coordinate your next move without tipping off the other side.

A couple of smaller touches we think you'll love:

  • Players now take the scenic route. Instead of teleporting straight to a property, your piece walks over the board tiles when you roll.
  • Hover to see who owns what. Hover a player in the players list and every property they own lights up on the board. This also works when teams are on (give it a try!).

That's it! Grab some friends, pick a team, and tell us what you think. We can't wait to see the alliances (and the betrayals) you come up with. 💙
